It's been quiet here in Port Heiden and it finally feels like I am getting into the swing of things. Two of my students came back from an extended trip, so now I have a full homeroom of 4!
Four students may sound easy peasy but some days those 4 can be just as much a challenge as 24. These past few days have felt like the first day of school all over again as we adjust routines, and review classroom procedures.
Last Saturday was a reprieve from the chaos though. The student government put on a cinnamon roll sale and I volunteered to help. With a 7am wake up call, it was a bit of a rough start, but fueled with plenty of coffee, I'd say we had a productive morning. All in all we sold over 100 cinnamon rolls!

This weekend was pretty relaxing. I didn't have anything planned since the weather has been pretty crappy lately (ie rainy.... all.the.time.)
Saturday was gorgeous and warm, and I was able to open all of my windows and get some fresh air in the apartment.
My house is also smelling good thanks to my Big White Yeti candles. I think my favorite is Holly Jolly, but Kitten Toots is a close second. All of them are wonderful and make the apartment feel so cozy.

I usually reserve Saturday as my "lazy" day, so I didn't do much other than some laundry and general tidying up. Much of the rest of the day was spent reading (Game of Thrones, book 2) and then hanging out with Kirsten and Kari.
(thanks guys!!!)
Sunday is my "work" day where I get school work together and organize materials for the week. Not very exciting and therefore I didn't take a picture, but I will mention that I set some time aside to learn to drive a Honda!!!
Huge shoutout to Kirsten, thanks lady!!
I was so nervous, it was like driving a car for the first time :) I just rode around the school but hopefully soon we will take a longer ride around the village. But I won't be conquering any "Big A$$ Hills" anytime soon I don't think.
